Wedding Ring Set - 18 Carat Gold Molten Ring

  • Details
Two 18 carat yellow gold rings with a lovely organic shape and slightly rustic texture. I wanted to make a unique gold ring with an organic shape so I created the texture by forging and shaping one of my plain gold bands. This gives a subtly irregular shape and fluid lines. If you would prefer a smoother/shinier finish or a more textured/matte finish please just let me know. The techniques I use to make these rings mean the final textures and finish can vary but if you have a preference I can work with that in mind. The ring is very comfortable to wear because of the smooth rounded edges. The gently molten style flowing lines and indents create lots of interest and are completely unique to each ring. The rings come in a variety of widths from 2-5mm, the thinner ring in these photos is 2mm and the wider one is 4mm. There are links below to other listings with photos of the various widths available to help you decide. They are all flat on top and medium weight/thickness unless otherwise requested. Please leave your preference of finish and your sizes in the notes to seller section at checkout. If you are not sure what ring size you are I can send you an easy to use ring sizer with this link:
If resizing is required I am happy to do so for free (minus postage costs) more details here:
You can order a single ring here:
I can also make these in white gold
Kindly note that I make every item individually by hand. Please check my shop announcement and/or delivery policies for my current turnaround times. If you require an item sooner get in touch and I will do my best to accommodate. These rings will also require a UK hallmark which will take additional time. All items come securely packaged for transit and gift wrapped in Eco-friendly gift boxes.

Gold items will be hallmarked by the Edinburgh Assay Office as a guarantee of gold quality and purity. I send each piece to be independently tested and stamped to show the type of metal (e.g.18 carat). They will also have a small makers mark on the inside/back to show they came from a registered goldsmith (that's me!)

My silver items are not hallmarked as standard but please get in touch if you would like them to be as I can arrange this for a small fee.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What if my ring doesn't fit?

I appreciate that buying rings without trying them on can be tricky so I am happy to resize for free (excluding postage costs). Please get in touch to arrange so that I know you are sending it back. Bear in mind that it can be more difficult to increase than decrease ring size.

If you are not sure of your size the best method is getting measured at a jewellery shop or you can buy ring sizers in my shop to use at home. I have found that measuring yourself with string or paper doesn't produce great results so I wouldn't recommend this method.

Ring size scales vary by country so I make rings to the scale you give me. Sizes don't always correlate so I don't convert them into UK sizes as this doesn't give accurate results.

My wedding is soon, can you make a rush order?

I can often schedule my workload to have rings ready sooner than my usual working times. I can arrange for gold items to be priority hallmarked for an extra fee. Please contact me with your date and I will let you know what I can do.

What kind of textures do you make?

I make a variety of textures and shapes for rings so I have written a summary below. I always start by making a plain ring band and finish them individually by hand so each is unique. If you use the shop search using these terms you will find each type. Please remember that the surface of any silver or gold ring will gradually wear smoother over time.

I use natural stones to imprint organic patterns.

Smooth undulating shapes with irregular grooves.

I make 3 different hammered looks: round imprints, flat hammered and linear 'tree bark'

    Tree Bark
Slightly different from the hammered tree back this has thinner grooves and a shiny finish.

Can I have my ring engraved?

Sorry but I am not doing any ring engraving. You can easily add an engraving once you have your ring as many jewellers and hardware shops offer this service.

Is there any nickel in the metals used?

All of the metals I work with are free from nickel but please let me know if you have a nickel allergy so I can make sure the other products I use are suitable.

    Do you plate white gold?

The 18 carat gold I use is an alloy of gold, palladium and silver. The palladium gives it a grey tone which I think makes it really interesting! I don't plate any white gold to make it whiter as I prefer the grey tone this also means the colour will always be the same rather than wearing off over time.

    What metals are available?

    I can work in:
    Sterling silver
9 carat white, rose and yellow gold
    14 carat yellow gold
18 carat white, rose and yellow gold

When you are looking through the ring options in my shop you will see some of the combinations and variations I make. The options you can combine to make your rings are:

If you don't see what you are looking for then just ask! You might also see more than one listing for some options as I try to take lots of photos to make it easier to choose.

Absolutely wonderful work! Very high-quality gold rings and a great price, it's lovely to work with a wonderful artisan. I really wanted a different type of wedding ring and firewhite brought exactly the kind of look I wanted. Plus I think it's super cool she works with old tools. Thank you so much for making our symbols into reality 💗💗
